carl | Someone who did not know me looked at my chart once and asked "Do you listen to a lot of "out there" music and/or unconvential and/or underground music?" "Yah, I do. (Ever listened to some drugged out "Can" (a german band with Japanese singer) jams? Or {insert obscure Indie band}? Or some free jazz? etc. I love it." I think it is something that has to do with my Uranus or neptune in 11th house..Possibly (but I think he only pointed to ONE placement) a combo of those two planets in house 11. I do not, however, think he mentioned venus in house 11 (I have that too) |
tautomer4314 | *raises hand* I listen to a lot of "out there" music. I am drawn to it. The only aspect I could think of in my chart that would hilight this might be mercury quincunx uranus (no orb). Other then that I honestly don't know. Good example of "out there" music. The volume of the video is low so you might have to turn it up. ------------------ It's All Elemental ----- My Chart if relevant |
mintgirl123 | I do. I used to listen to alot of indie music (now haven't had time to really download new songs) I have uranus exact oonjunct MC, squaring my mercury. Sun trine neptune (1 degree) |
mercuranian | i was gonna say uranus. I have merc opposite uranus, among quite a few other uranian aspects/placements. |
RunAroundScreaming | Yeah i was going to say this too! Lol. I have mercury opp uranus, and i know someone else who has the conjunction and also listen to a lot of out there stuff. But then again i know two guys with mercury opp uranus and they dont listen to music that's "out there" at all----in fact they criticize it |
ladyvi | lol indie music is the trend these days welcome to the age of the aquarius! |

Yep its a trend[/B][/QUOTE]Glad Im not the only one who noticed lol |
amowls** | Its not so much a trend but an inevitability, plus "indie music" has always been there. At one point Led Zep and Black Sabbath were "underground" and considered shockingly different, for instance. Take Radiohead: they're considered "indie" but by this point, everyone knows who they are (Katy Perry even references them in her new single). So "weird" is relative. I assume you like "fresh" music? In that case its a matter of novelty seeking. Uranus definitely plays a role in liking novelty. I like a wide variety of music, some of it bordering on pretentious. I have Venus square Uranus and Saturn, which are big players in my chart in general. Tautomer, I love Planningtorock/The Knife/Fever Ray. |
lu_pirate | Probably venus in aquarius!! Well, venus is about music and aquarius is about "out there stuff". Just gessing! |
amowls** | A friend of mine has Venus in Aqua and she wasnever interested in indie music at all. She only listened to the Beatles, showtunes and top 40. |

Well, Beattles = retro, not-so-usual as people may think. They used drugs LSD to compose their songs. Also, Beattles made me like music for the 1st time, seriously!

Malena | Heh. I remember when I was a teenager, I was in the music shop with my best friend. I spotted a Curtis Mayfield greatest hits CD. He was one of those musicians whose name I was familiar with and I knew he was important, but I wasn't too familiar with his actual music you know? So I thought, what the hell, and I bought it on impulse. My friend looked at me like I was INSANE. Like, the idea of buying a CD when you weren't sure what was going to be on it was just appalling to her. I think that was a combination of her Libra Sun and Venus (aesthetics were very important to her, listening to something "ugly" was like a traumatic experience) and Virgo Moon (things that messed up her discriminating tastes made her really uncomfortable). Myself, I would describe my tastes as eclectic. My iPod playlist would probably look pretty random in terms of genre, and I like to listen to music from all over the world, but within those different genres I tend to prefer a lot of the same musical qualities. Yeah, I am surprised the person you talked to didn't mention your Venus, because that would seem like a prime place to look at with respect to aesthetic values. I think my own Venus being in the third house has a lot of influence on my musical tastes, and I sort of feel like Neptune/Eros conjunction in 4H Sagittarius also plays into this somehow. |

My ex has Venus in Aqua and he hates "out there"...he plays drums in a metal band. That's not really too "out there."I used to talk to another Venus in Aqua and he would not shuddup about thrash metal. So I guess Venus in Aqua likes dark music, not necessarily "out there." |

You venus in aqua metal liking friends need to broaden their knowledge of metal because there are metal bands that are way out there. What where their moon signs because that can also be an indicator of musical taste. I've got Merc in Aqua with one aspect (7 deg sq to 12H pluto) Venus in Cappy. ------------------ 12.5% of the planets have 71% of the mass. #OccupyJupiter. (I'd totally post the pic in my siggy if I could) |

The Beatles are one of the most recognizable groups of all time. They are pretty usual, even if they were ground breaking at the time (like they may be unusual to my dad, who was a kid when they first came out, but not to someone who's 23 years old). |
